TRAINED TO GET RESULTS

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate (LCSWA) with a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa, specializing in Behavioral and Mental Health.

My approach is trauma-informed and grounded in respect for each client’s lived experience. I specialize in working with teens and adults experiencing the effects of complex trauma, sexual abuse, eating disorders, and relationship challenges. I integrate expressive art therapies, somatic experiencing, and Internal Family Systems (IFS) to help individuals reconnect with themselves, regulate their nervous systems, and process trauma in a safe and supportive space.

When was the last time you felt truly alive?

So often we get stuck in stories and responses we have needed to survive real challenges and injustice but that may limit our options now. My work is deeply influenced by the belief that healing happens in connection with ourselves, with others, and with the natural world.

Family messages, trauma, systemic oppression, and physical pain (to name a few) are real parts of our world that often impact whether we feel safe enough to express ourselves and take action based on what we truly want and need. These experiences also make it challenging to trust others in our lives to support and connect with us on the journey where we all need community.

WHAT IT’S LIKE WORKING WITH ME

I enjoy working with you to tell the truth of what happened in the past and to explore new embodied possibilities in the present even amid the very real challenges we also face as humans in an unstable world. I don’t have all the answers and I can’t fix you, but I believe in us together exploring what types of therapy will be most helpful to you and am open to change along the way.

I utilize an integrative approach to therapy; no two humans are alike, we all need different things on different days. I prioritize being present with you in the moment, meeting you exactly where you are and offering options based on your particular needs and desires.  I continue to seek consultation and collaborate with other healing practitioners who support, inspire, and hold me accountable to my values.

When I’m not in therapist mode…

When I'm not holding space for others, I'm usually holding a coffee, cracking a joke, or being emotionally regulated by my beloved dog, Agatha. I have a soft spot for quick wit, and the kind of conversations that leave me laughing until I’m wheezing, teary-eyed, and with an accidental core workout. Music has always been part of my healing, especially R&B and hip hop. In my younger years, I danced my heart out in New York and Los Angeles. Movement, rhythm, and deep connection continue to shape how I show up in the world and in the therapy space.

Life is a Mystery. A Mystery so awesome that we insulate ourselves from its intensity. To numb our fear of the unknown we desensitize ourselves to the miracle of living. We perpetuate the nonchalant lie that we know who we are and what life is. Yet behind this preposterous bluff the Mystery remains unchanging, waiting for us to remember to wonder. It is waiting in a shaft of sunlight, in the thought of death, in the intoxication of new love, in the joy of childbirth or the shock of loss. One minute we are going about our business as if life were nothing special and the next we are face to face with profound, unfathomable, breathtaking Mystery. This is both the origin and consummation of the spiritual quest.
